We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation – Registered Charity Number – 1162603
Our aim is to promote and advance traditional agriculture, horticulture, livestock breeding and Arts & Crafts.
Our show is held on the first Sunday in August every year and opens from around 8.30am until 6pm.
Please feel free to use this web-site to access information on the Show and to contact our Honorary Secretary who will be more than happy to answer any queries you might have.
The members of the Sykehouse Show Society are all unpaid volunteers who would like to welcome you and your friends.
We take this opportunity to thank the many sponsors and patrons and to express our appreciation for the numerous trophies donated to the Show.
Special thanks must go to the field owners and some very generous neighbours for the use of their fields, without which there would be no show. We do appreciate not only the use of the fields, but also the amount of work involved for them in the preparation and reparation of them.
Thank you also to the field owner Also the First Aid Services; Veterinary Surgeons, Honorary Legal Adviser; Honorary Auditor; Members; Judges; Stewards; Exhibitors; Trade Stand and Craft Stall Traders; Commentators; Officials; Helpers; Families and Friends.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Show.
Come along and investigate our unique Sheaf Tossing competition at the Show, as featured by Chris Berry in the Yorkshire Post newspaper, before the 2014 Show. With prize money of £100 for the winner it is an exciting spectacle.
The Dog Show is a very popular addition – we hope to have a number of old farm tractors and vehicles driving round one of the rings at around lunch time and apart from the Jacob Sheep, the Alpacas and Rare Breed chickens, ducks and goats, we will have displays of wild animals too.
In the Entertainment ring starting just after 11 am and continuing through the day we shall have displays from Ferret World, where the children race against the ferrets and the Hawks of Steele Birds of Prey Flying Display plus other interesting things to see and participate in, including a clown and Punch and Judy booth.
You will see from the Schedule that there will be plenty of animals of various types and sizes being judged throughout the day.
With Admission charges of only £5 Adults, £3 Children and £5 for cars parked on the Showfield – there is a free car parking field adjacent – we think we are the best value day out in Yorkshire – come along and see if we are right.
